Lokman Abdullah’s disability has not hampered him in any way. His right arm has been amputated and part of his left arm too, but the 48-year-old from Butterworth is almost as dextrous as an able-bodied person.
Using a pair of pliers attached to his prosthetic left forearm, Lokman feeds himself during buka puasa at a restaurant in Bagan Ajam, Butterworth. The former labourer lost his limbs in an accident involving a piling machine at a construction site in Batu Maung, Penang, in 2000. — NST picture by Mohd Kamil Rahim.
